News You Can Use

As you can see, BookShelfery is sporting a brand new header!  I (Jennifer) made it myself in Illustrator, and while it’s nothing complicated, I am still pretty proud of it, because I hadn’t used Illustrator in…oh my gosh, about 15 years when I was in college!  I think I’m going to subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud for both Illustrator and the Photoshop/Lightroom combo.

Draven Rodriguez, whom you may know as the Laser Cat Teen, died of apparent suicide on Thursday night.  I know this isn’t bookish info, but his yearbook photo request went viral and many applauded him for his animal rights activities.  So, hats off to you, Draven, for being awesome and R.I.P.

  1. Great haul! I’ve never read anything by Nora Roberts because I don’t read many adult books, though I have heard pretty good things about them. I hope you enjoy your books and have a great week! 🙂 Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian

  2. The Header looks fantastic, great job. The new illustrator is a little more confusing than the older one that I use at work but I plan to get that one soon however at the moment I only have photoshop and LOVE it so much more than the old one 🙂 Hope you have a great week, Jennifer and Happy Reading!

  3. The banner looks great! I can’t wait for Sync to start up again, I love that program. I saw the news about Draven, it breaks my heart. He seemed like a really great person, and like someone who would want to put smiles on other peoples faces.
