This Week

Storytime: I received an email from HarperCollins two weeks ago, telling me I should have received a book and would I be able to read and review it?  I scratched my head.  I hadn’t received any books in a couple of weeks from anyone, so did one of my neighbors steal it?  Was it left at the front office and they didn’t notify me?  I wrote back asking for more clarification.  But I didn’t hear back. The next day, my roommate brings in a UPS notice with just my last name and the next delivery date.  He found it by our mail bin, but it was days old.  I didn’t connect the two and thought the UPS guy just wrote the wrong date.  Fast forward a week and I decided to look up the tracking on this notice, because I have been hoping for another package of books to show up from the Book Bloggers and Publishers Online Con and I was crossing my fingers this was it.  UPS showed a bunch of hoohah about wrong addresses and it was at their delivery center, so after a phone call and some digging around, I was off to pick it up. To my surprise, it was not a bunch of books, but one single tiny package requiring my signature, so once I had it in my hot little hands, I tore the packaging open and….the mystery of the HarperCollins book was solved!

So how perfect is this?  After reading The Selection and commenting how much I enjoyed the romance aspect of the story, I said I wanted to dabble in some straight romance.  Well here we go!

Isn’t this interesting? I think I automatically trust people who have books in their hand, or whom I know read. Which makes, like, no sense. I also immediately judge their intelligence. Don’t read? Must not be smart. Do read? Genius! =P

What inspires you this week?
