Last month, Uppercase and OwlCrate sent duplicate books (My Lady Jane) in their June boxes. While unexpected, I understood that was a risk of subscribing to two different YA book boxes. Both companies have acknowledged the situation and offered solutions to customers who received duplicates. Both of them have handled the situation extremely well, and with great customer service. Although I don’t know how long I will continue to pay for both subscriptions, I wouldn’t cancel due to one duplicate book. So with that out of the way, let’s dive in to the June Uppercase Box… The first item I pulled out of the bag was a custom stamped Book Lover Pencil Set. I’m not a huge user of pencils (Sharpies are my writing utensil of choice), but I will make an exception for these! I love the sayings on them, especially #booknerd, and the colors are bright and fun. Next up was a Vintage Sticky Notes Set – another win! These are way too cute, and I can’t wait to use them. Or just open the package from time to time and stare at them adoringly.
Also included was the usual bookmark with the codes for extra content, as well as a button that went along with the book. Which was…This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab, which sounds amazing! I can’t wait to read this one.
I couldn’t determine prices or find links to the extra items in this month’s box, so I can’t say what kind of value this is. However, I enjoyed all of the items that were included, and I will continue my subscription for another month. Uppercase Box is $23 (+shipping) per month, and I am not compensated in any way for my opinion. There is also an option to receive the book only for $17 (+shipping), if you aren’t interested in the extras.

I’ve had both OwlCrate and Uppercase subscriptions. I haven’t decided which one I like more, but I love that Uppercase’s books are signed. Great post!

Thanks! I think OwlCrate is my favorite, because the extras are always so cool, and I love the letters from the author. But I LOVE getting the signed books from Uppercase, so I’ve pretty much decided I have to keep them both. 🙂
I haven’t tried either of these yet but they both look cool. Is it bad that I’m holding out to see which company ends up *winning* the booknerds and then going with them> I know, I know, I’m such a follower.
I haven’t tried either yet, but I love looking at what everyone is getting out of them. They look wonderful.
They’re so much fun! I love getting surprises in the mail, and it doesn’t get much better than surprise books and book-themed items! 🙂
