New Associate Reviewer!

Please help me give a warm welcome to my new cohort in crime, Kristina, aka ThorstenDiva!  She’s joining The Bawdy Book Blog as an associate reviewer and will be covering movies, and more specifically, books-to-movies, really super-fab releases and in general, letting readers know when they should check out a great movie – or wait for it to come on HBO.  Kristina is my go-to movie guru; I’m always asking her about her thoughts on up-and-coming titles and new releases and she is forever shaking her finger shamefully at me with a tisk tisk when she finds out I haven’t watched a hot title, like Harry Potter (*whistles and looks around innocently).

Kristina and Sid Haig as "Captain Spalding"

Kristina and I met in 1997 (holy crap we are old!), back home in Chesapeake, Virginia – we worked for an entertainment company run (incidentally) under Regal Cinemas, while we were in high school.  She’ll tell you I tried to beat her up once, but that’s SO NOT TRUE *cue innocent look.  We’ve been friends for the last fifteen years, even though we’ve both bounced all over the country; I’d have to say she’s one of my very best friends.  In fact, she sometimes knows me better than I know myself.

I have found that movies can be and are a natural extension of books and the worlds we read about; I’m always seeing movie discussions between fellow twitter tweeps!  Who doesn’t love to watch a good story?

I was going to write a review of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, when I realized, I’m a book reviewer, not a movie reviewer, and I shouldn’t pretend to be something I’m not.  But I knew someone whom I had been trying to convince to start their own blog for a little while; so I invited Kristina to instead join The Bawdy Book Blog.

Please give her a warm welcome, and make sure you stop in to check out her movie reviews!
