Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.\r\n\r\nNor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.\r\n\r\nWith more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.\r\n

Once upon a time, I read A Court of Thorns and Roses, and I fell in love. With the characters, the setting, the writing, all of it. Then I read devoured The Throne of Glass series, also by Sarah J. Maas, and I fell in love again. Needless to say, I was extremely excited to get my hands on this one! But before I did, I decided to listen the audiobook of A Court of Thorns and Roses, because it had been over a year since I read it, and I didn’t remember all the details.  I’m so glad I did! There were lots of little things I had forgotten, and I was reminded of how much I loved the story.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nYou know how sometimes sequels can’t live up to the original?  Well, this is the rare sequel that actually surpasses its predecessor. Yes, I said it. It’s even better than the first. Beyond already knowing and loving the characters, this book really managed to surprise me. Not with some last-minute twist, but with the entire direction that it went. I’m staying spoiler-free, but I really wasn’t expecting it. And I loved it.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThere were also several new characters that I really liked. Characters that probably would’ve terrified Feyre in the last book, but are now allies, friends, and even equals. I loved their humor and camaraderie, and these well-developed characters came to be a valuable part of the story. We also get to explore more of the Courts, and I absolutely loved the descriptions of them. If you liked the Spring Court, prepare to be blown away!\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThis book is really about Feyre’s personal growth. Overcoming what Amarantha did to her, embracing what she has become, and discovering what she can be. Life frequently doesn’t go in the direction we expect it will, but it’s how we pick up the pieces and what we do with them that matters.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nA Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas is the rare book that manages to perfectly blend action, humor, romance (and lots of sexual tension!), friendship, and adventure. There will be moments when characters make you absolutely furious, and moments when you’re on the edge of your seat cheering for them. I can’t get enough of this series (or these characters), and I cannot wait to see where it goes from here!\r\n\r\n \r\n

“He thinks he’ll be remembered as the villain in the story. But I forgot to tell him that the villain is usually the person who locks up the maiden and throws away the key. He was the one who let me out.”

Jessica’s addiction to books began at age 4, going on weekly trips to the library with her mom. After being a young fan of Sweet Valley High and The Baby-Sitters Club, she discovered the thrill of reading a book that made her want to leave the light on and check under the bed. Her all-time favorite author is Stephen King, but she will read just about anything! Jessica never leaves home without her e-reader, and considers it the best gift she ever received. Her other hobbies include running and going to Disney World as often as possible.
